March 23, 2023-A team of officers assigned to the St. Catherine North Police Division seized one
firearm and five rounds of ammunition during an operation on Cumberland Road, Spanish Town,
St. Catherine on Thursday, March 23. One man was taken into custody in relation to this seizure.
Reports are that about 1:55 p.m., lawmen were in the area when a premises which was occupied
by a man was searched. During the search, one .44 magnum revolver containing five .44 rounds of
ammunition was seized by the police during the incident.
The man was subsequently taken into custody, however, his identity is being withheld pending
further investigation.
